Kavi Shri Dula Kag Memorial Trust

(Trust Registration No. E-402, Amreli)

Deep in Gujarat's vibrant folk tradition glows a flame that refuses to fade: the poetry and spirit of Kavi Dula Bhaya Kag, lovingly called Kag Bapu. His verses, filled with devotion, compassion, and a quiet call to serve others, captured the soul of Kathiawad while guiding countless lives with timeless wisdom and hope.

When Kag Bapu passed away in 1977, his son Rambhai Dulabhai Kag made a solemn promise to keep that light burning. In 1985, he founded the Kavi Shri Dula Kag Memorial Trust, a public charitable trust dedicated to preserving his father's profound writings, promoting Gujarati folk literature, and continuing his legacy of education, charity, and selfless service.

For years, the Trust nurtured these efforts, sharing Kag Bapu's resonant messages through publications, events, and community work. Yet, as time moved on, the pace slowed, and the flame flickered amid the rush of modern life.

True legacies, however, never truly dim. They await fresh hands to carry them forward. Today, that renewal has come through Ish Rajvirbhai Kag, the great-grandson of Kag Bapu. With deep passion and clear vision, Ish has stepped in to guide the Trust, reigniting its activities and bringing Kag Bapu's words and works vividly back to life. Supported by managing trustee Rajvir Rambhai Kag, a dedicated team of trustees, and volunteers, the Trust is once again thriving, making his poetry, teachings, and philanthropic spirit accessible and relevant for new generations.

The Trust's mission remains rooted in its original objectives: preserving and publishing Kag Bapu's manuscripts and unpublished treasures, igniting interest in Kathiawad's folklore and arts through research, seminars, and educational programs. We champion Charni and Pingal traditions, explore India's epics like the Ramayan and Mahabharat, train young artists in folk arts, organize cultural tours, competitions, and lectures, and provide scholarships, libraries, vocational aid, and medical relief to underprivileged communities.

Our work brings his genius to life today: digitizing fragile archives, hosting poetry readings and workshops, maintaining a digital bookstore and multimedia gallery with rare photos, videos, and audio recordings. We invite community tributes, spark dialogue through events, and collaborate widely to broaden reach.

Kag Bapu's words have always been a beacon of hope, never confined to one era. They resonate across generations, blending folk wisdom with calls for collective action, kindness, and meaningful change. As we walk this path, we carry forward not only his literature but his profound belief that together we can build a gentler world.

Let us keep his legacy glowing through every act of giving, caring, and positive impact. We invite you to explore his works, immerse in our archives, join our events, or support our efforts, helping ensure Kag Bapu's voice continues to inspire and uplift.
