Kavi Kag Award

Honoring excellence in Gujarati folk and Charan literature since 2002

Celebrating Excellence Since 2002

For the past two decades, the "Kag Award" has been presented annually to preserve, sustain, and promote the invaluable legacy of literature that is gradually fading with time. This prestigious award is given on the occasion of “Kag Choth” (Phalgun Sud Choth), marking the death anniversary of the revered Bhakti poet PadmaShri Dula Bhaya Kag. The ceremony takes place at KagDham (Majadar). Inspired by pujya Morari Bapu, the Kag Award recognizes contributions to folk literature and Charani literature.

Each awardee is honored with a cash prize of ₹51,000, a memento, and a shawl, presented by Pujya Morari Bapu and the Kag family as a gesture of encouragement to these connoisseurs of folk literature.
